About The Position

The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing, curating, and organizing learning content for enterprise-wide learning programs that build capabilities, enhance organizational culture, and support company goals. As well as configuring, managing, and maintaining the organization’s Learning Management System (LMS). This role ensures learning programs are instructionally sound, easy to access and navigate, and aligned with organizational goals and leadership development priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Education, Organizational Development, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 3–6 years of experience in instructional design, organizational learning, or adult education.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and implementing scalable learning solutions across multiple audiences.
  • Proficiency in LMS administration and content management, including user management, course configuration, and reporting.
  • Experience working with vendors or subject matter experts to curate or localize training content.
  • Experience with authoring and design tools such as Articulate 360, Canva, Synthesia, or similar; experience with LMS or content platforms like Moodle or OpenSesame Simon preferred.
  • Experience in the F&B/Hospitality space preferred.
  • Project Management: Skilled in managing multiple priorities, stakeholders, and timelines.
  • Collaboration: Partners effectively with HR, Guest Experiences, functional leaders and vendors to ensure training initiatives meet business needs.
  • Communication: Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills; effectively presents content to diverse audiences.
  • Cultural Competence: Creates inclusive learning experiences that respect and reflect diverse audiences.
  • Travel: May require up to 25% travel, depending on project needs and location.

Responsibilities

  • Content Creation & Curation
  • Conduct needs assessments, discovery calls, and listening tours to inform the creation and enhancement of leadership programs and new unit openings.
  • Apply the ADDIE model, adult learning principles, and innovative methodologies such as gamification and accelerated learning to design engaging and impactful learning experiences.
  • Partner with Guest Experience Team members to review, enhance, organize and ensure consistency of materials for new opening and other needs.
  • Develop clear learning objectives and determine optimal formats (microlearning, curated courses, self-paced modules, job aids, etc.) for content delivery.
  • Assist with identifying key leadership capabilities and competencies to ensure that both leadership programs are strategically aligned with business priorities.
  • Content Consistency & Organization
  • Create and maintain standardized templates for job aids, videos, facilitator guides, and self-paced modules to ensure consistency and ease of navigation.
  • Establish and maintain content governance frameworks including standards, roles, and maintenance plans to keep materials current with organizational, operational, and regulatory changes.
  • Implement a regular content review cycle to update, retire, or replace learning assets based on feedback, performance data, and business changes.
  • LMS Administration
  • Configure, manage, and maintain the LMS, including catalog structure, content lifecycle, user access, course assignment rules, notifications, and optimization of the learner experience.
  • Manage user accounts, roles, groups, and permissions to ensure accurate enrollments and access to required learning paths and resources. Conducts periodic audits of LMS and other systems/materials as needed.
  • Upload, organize, and update digital learning assets (SCORM, videos, assessments, quizzes) and ensure a logical, searchable, and intuitive content structure.
  • Troubleshoot LMS issues, coordinate with internal resources and vendors as needed, and provide timely support and guidance to users, managers, and SMEs.
  • Leadership Development
  • Collaborate with Learning and Development leadership to identify competencies required at all levels of leadership and to implement multi-level leadership development initiatives.
  • Co-facilitate workshops or learning sessions that build leadership capacity and foster a culture of continuous development.
  • Measurement, Analytics and Continuous Improvement
  • Design and administer surveys to measure quality of courses and programs, measure changes in knowledge and behavior using both qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Track certifications and completions and generate reports and dashboards to track enrollment, participation, completion, and assessment outcomes, providing insights for leaders.
  • Analyze learning metrics and feedback to refine content, improve LMS and GoHappy usability, and inform future learning design and deployment strategies.
