About The Position

The Bush School is seeking a thoughtful, collaborative Instructional Designer who’s passionate about building high‑quality online learning experiences. In this role, you’ll partner closely with fellow designers and faculty Subject Matter Experts to create, redesign, and refine web‑based academic courses that reflect the Bush School’s commitment to excellence. You’ll guide projects through the full development cycle, ensuring timelines are met and every course aligns with our quality standards. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of related experience in the design and development of online instructional materials.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Knowledge of multi-media and software or related programs.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited college in Educational/Instructional Design or a related discipline.
  • At least one year experience designing and producing instruction for online delivery.
  • At least one year of experience with online learning technologies (e.g. LMS s, web conferencing tec.).
  • Knowledge of effective instructional design methodologies.
  • Ability to edit HTML and audio/video files using Camtasia.
  • Knowledge and understanding of graphics software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to work with population.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Knowledge of ADA compliance for online learning.
  • Understanding of current web tools for online learning communities (e.g. social networking).
  • Teaching or training experience.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, re-designs, and updates innovative and engaging online academic courses using a working knowledge of instructional design principles in combination with new online learning technologies.
  • Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts in the planning and scheduling of the design and development of courses.
  • Monitors the course development process to meet course offering deadline.
  • Monitors course integrity as it relates to assessment, and reviewing course design quality.
  • Creates and/or edits graphics, audio, and video for online delivery with storyboards and media editing software.
  • Works within Learning Management System to support the Instructional Designer through facilitation of course administration with regularly scheduled course procedures such as backups and template configurations.
  • May assist with some general course administration duties.
