Instructional Assistant - Student Support Services
About The Position
ST. MARK Catholic School is searching for a full-time Instructional Assistant for our Resource/Special Education program. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree, an interest in teaching students with various learning abilities and challenges, and a desire to work for a Catholic school. ST. MARK is a mid-sized Catholic pre-school through grade 8 school in Vienna, Virginia. We have two classes per grade from Kindergarten through grade 8, with an average of 20-24 students per class. Grade level and content area teachers work closely to provide a challenging and supportive educational experience for students. As an Instructional Assistant, you will be an important part of the Student Support Services team, and will assist with providing in-class support and small group instruction to K-8 students with a variety of learning challenges. You will collaborate with classroom teachers to help differentiate, modify, and support existing curriculum and assist with testing accommodations.
Requirements
- Strong proponent of inclusion
- Comfortable providing in-class support and pull-out instruction for small groups
- Able to collaborate with general education and special education teachers
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience as a special education aide or similar role preferred
- Experience working with children with a wide range of abilities
- Enjoy working with youth, and a desire to help students grow in faith, knowledge, and service
