About The Position

To assist the teacher in providing a positive classroom environment in which students can benefit from the instructional program

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma
• Meets the Highly Qualified status based on the ESEA requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of the school instructional team with students, parents, and instructional staff
• Effective oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Prepares for and assists with classroom activities under the supervision of a highly qualified teacher.
• Works with students to reinforce material introduced by the teacher.
• Provides individual and small group instruction.
• Guides independent study and enrichment work assigned by the teacher.
• Assists students in utilizing technology.
• Maintains confidentiality concerning student records, data, and personal information
• Utilizes planning time in the classroom under the direction of the teacher.
• Participates in staff development programs provided by the school district as appropriate.
• In conjunction with the teacher, plans, prepares, and develops individual and small group lessons.
• Monitors and reports student progress.
• Performs other duties as directed.
