About Us: LJI operates 15 family homes for orphaned and abandoned children in South Asia. Our primary objective is to help these children become difference makers in their nation. Our story began in 2015 with a vision: to provide excellent education to the children that were living in our Family Homes. Today, we serve approximately 230 students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, including children from surrounding villages, well-off locals, and expat families. Our school is a place of transformation with both expat and local teachers—a Kingdom-Class school where students learn, play, dream, and grow in a safe, joyful environment. As a Student Support Teacher & Instructional Coach at LJI’s school based in South Asia, you will play a pivotal role in supporting diverse learners and empowering teachers.

Requirements

• A strong Christian faith and alignment with our mission and values.
• A bachelor’s degree in a related field (Education, English, Mathematics, Science, etc.).
• Teaching experience and a heart for mentoring national teachers.
• Cross-cultural adaptability and a willingness to learn and grow.
• A deep desire to inspire students and create a lasting impact.

Responsibilities

• Teach and Support Students with Special Needs: Develop and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs, ensuring they thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
• Train and Mentor Teachers: Equip national teachers with effective strategies for differentiating instruction, managing classrooms inclusively, and supporting students with learning and behavioral challenges.
• Develop Scalable Resources: Create tools, strategies, and resources for addressing the needs of students with learning disabilities, attention challenges, and other exceptionalities.
• Promote Inclusive Education: Foster an environment that celebrates diversity and ensures all students feel valued and supported.
• Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work with parents, teachers, and support staff to create holistic plans that address students’ academic and emotional needs.
• Model a Growth Mindset: Inspire teachers and students alike to embrace challenges, view mistakes as opportunities to grow, and celebrate progress.
• Empower Students for Success: Build confidence and life skills in students with special needs, helping them recognize their potential as future difference-makers.
