About The Position

The Institutional Services Assistant Lead oversees the cleaning tasks in a specified zone area. This position serves in a lead position organizing and coordinating cleaning activities during special events or time-sensitive projects. This position is heavily involved in conference programs and is responsible for escorting vendors when requested; keeping staff informed of current cleaning techniques and processes such as stripping and waxing of floors; assigning daily tasks; ensuring all areas are sanitized daily; ensuring all staff are using the correct cleaning products and follows safety guidelines; and ensuring housekeeping closets meet expectations and all product bottles labeled. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
  • At least one year of vocational training and/or experience in housekeeping
  • Ability to work independently with high attention to detail without close supervision
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and assignments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds waist-high, climb stairs daily, and operate basic cleaning equipment

Nice To Haves

  • At least five years custodial experience
  • At least two years supervisory experience in the custodial field
