The Institutional Investment Manager II (IIM2) is a key contributor within the institutional investment management team, responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and communication of investment strategies for institutional clients, including Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) mandates. This role focuses on sustaining and deepening existing client relationships and assisting in new business development opportunities that may be sourced by wholesale/wealth/financial advisors across nonprofit organizations and other institutional entities with investment needs. The IIM delivers proactive, holistic advice aligned with each client’s objectives, governance structure, and long-term strategy. Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Engage in information discovery and client goal identification for prospective institutional clients. Analyze investment portfolios, develop and implement strategic asset allocation, as well as portfolio implementation and construction. Clearly articulate investment process and recommendations. Build lasting and meaningful relationships with clients through proactive engagement and influence with boards, investment committees, and C-suite executives by providing clear and compelling investment recommendations as well as investment and institutional thought leadership. Collaborate as a key member of the Truist Wealth client-facing team to deepen institutional client relationships through proactive communication and advice. Assist in client onboarding and develop Investment Policy Statements tailored to each institution’s unique objectives, governance structure, and risk profile. Execute strategic and tactical asset allocation. Manage daily trading activities in discretionary, non-discretionary, and trust-based portfolios. Implement investment recommendations and transition new clients into ongoing portfolio management and communication cycles. Conduct proactive investment reviews; recommend, monitor, and adjust strategies to achieve client-specific goals for institutional portfolios. Active participant for deal team in new business opportunities. Assist senior leaders and advisors in acquiring institutional-level prospective clients. Ensure adherence to risk management and compliance standards, documenting compliance with all relevant regulatory policies and procedures.
