About The Position

CAPTRUST is seeking an Institutional Investment Research Associat e to work within our Defined Contribution team and who will help source, underwrite, and maintain a list of approved multi-asset investment strategies. This position will assist with disseminating information on the industry and individual strategies to our internal partners including financial advisors, client service professionals, the Investment Group, Investment Committee, and occasionally directly with firm clients through written and verbal communication. This is a full-time position working Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in our Raleigh, North Carolina, office location. Due to the nature of the role, this is not a remote or work from home position.

Requirements

  • Completion of a four-year college degree – Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Accounting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the qualitative and quantitative evaluation of investment managers within the multi-asset universe
  • Prepare detailed research reports, meeting notes, and recommendation memos for internal committees and clients
  • Participate in calls and meetings with fund managers to understand their investment philosophy, process, and team dynamics
  • Stay current on market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging investment strategies
  • Compile quarterly updates from each investment firm and maintain an internal database
  • Identify and focus on opportunities to enhance or improve the efficiency of team deliverables/operations
  • Assist with due diligence and coverage for defined contribution-related investments/programs
  • Assist with asset class, industry, and economic research related to defined contribution
  • May perform other duties as assigned
