About The Position

The INSPIRE - Events Leadership Development Program is an 18-month initiative designed for future or recent graduates eager to jumpstart their hospitality career with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. This program immerses participants in the operational heart of a Fairmont hotel, providing valuable insights and hands-on experience to foster their management career. Participants will assume a Supervisor (or equivalent) role in key areas such as Resort Experience or Conference Concierge. The program features a customized outline, offering two distinct structures: Cross-exposure, which involves rotating through several teams across assigned departments, or Specialization, allowing participants to develop expertise by focusing on two specific divisions. The availability of these structures may vary by property.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-year cumulative experience in hospitality (within hotel environment, preferred) or a customer-service orientated environment (and/or experience in specific area you are applying)
  • Desire to advance your hospitality career, with strong ability, engagement, and motivation
  • Agile and works well in fast-paced environments, willing to learn and commit to a role
  • Legal working eligibility in the country you are applying (sponsorship not provided)
  • Passionate about people
  • Extroverted, confident, enthusiastic, persuasive influences, stimulates others to action
  • Collaboration focused on results

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education (i.e. bachelor’s, or master’s degree) in Hospitality or Business is an asset
  • Experience within a hotel environment (preferred for the 1-year hospitality experience)

Responsibilities

  • Become a Supervisor (or equivalent) in areas/departments such as Resort Experience or Conference Concierge
  • Gain valuable leadership experience
  • Develop and execute persuasive communication strategies to effectively convey the company's vision, values, and objectives
  • Lead by example, inspiring teams to perform at their best and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, leveraging influence to garner support for initiatives and drive organizational alignment
  • Act as a catalyst for change, identifying opportunities for improvement and championing initiatives to drive continuous growth and innovation
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making and adapt the approach accordingly
