This role involves performing independent inspections of drainage and concrete work (e.g., sidewalks, roadway features) within the State Right of Way to ensure compliance with FDOT standards, plans, and safety regulations. It also includes verifying materials and construction through field testing and site monitoring, and reviewing Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) setups to ensure safe work zones and correct placement of devices. The position requires preparing detailed reports, documentation, and payment packages to support contractor work and contract administration. Field surveys (signs, guardrails, roadway inventory) are conducted, and data is entered into systems such as RCI. The Inspector II participates in pre-construction meetings, coordinates with contractors and stakeholders, and assists with maintenance contracts, plan reviews, and public records requests.
