About The Position

Kurt Manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join their quality team as a Quality Inspector. This position is responsible for ensuring manufactured parts meet Kurt's quality standards and customer specifications through thorough inspection of incoming, in-process, and finished products using various quality tools. This is a first shift position, working Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Kurt Machining is a division of Kurt Manufacturing, headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, and is 100% employee owned. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED
  • 2 years of related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree
  • 4 years of related experience
  • Metrosoft or PC DMIS experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide receiving, in-process and final inspection for quality, appearance and performance of complicated equipment, instruments or products, or of diversified parts and assemblies using precision testing equipment, including CMM, micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to determine production standards and tolerance limits.
  • Test finished products for dimensions, fit, surface finish, and appearance.
  • Complete all required records and paperwork to include inspection reports, non-conforming material tags, and return material notices.
  • Analyze inspection results and assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from existing standards.
  • Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Devise unusual measuring or gauging set-ups (may be required).
  • Make periodic spot checks of variety of parts in progress for adherence to specifications (may be required).
  • Reliable attendance is required.
