AMSC is seeking an Inside Technical Sales professional to support proposal development and sales execution for AMSC’s power quality, grid modernization, and energy solutions. This role is based in Ayer, MA (with hybrid flexibility per AMSC policy) and works closely with Sales, Business Development, Network Planning, Engineering, and Operations to support customer opportunities from early qualification through contract award. Functions: Support Sales and Business Development teams by coordinating and developing proposal content, RFQs, and RFP responses. Assist in gathering technical, commercial, and administrative inputs required for customer proposals. Translate customer requirements into proposal narratives, system descriptions, and supporting documentation. Coordinate internally with Engineering, Network Planning, Operations, and Supply Chain to define system architectures, performance criteria, and solution scope to ensure proposal accuracy and completeness. Maintain proposal schedules, document control, and internal approval workflows. Support preparation of technical descriptions, system layouts, and presentation materials for customer-facing use. Working with vendors to obtain quotes for equipment per customer specifications Assist with responding to customer technical questions during the bid phase and support proposal revisions as needed. Maintain familiarity with AMSC products, applications, and relevant industry standards. Contribute to proposal templates, technical libraries, and process improvements to increase proposal efficiency. Support internal handoff of awarded projects to Engineering and Project Management teams. Provide administrative and coordination support related to proposal tracking, opportunity management, and reporting. Participate in training and development activities across Sales, Engineering, Planning, and Field Service to build technical and business knowledge. Minimal travel required; occasional domestic or international travel opportunities may be available based on interest and role needs. Education - Experience: Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Engineering (Electrical preferred), Business, or a related technical discipline. Candidates with relevant technical experience or coursework will be considered in lieu of a formal engineering degree. 0–5 years of experience; entry-level candidates and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Prior experience in inside sales, proposal coordination, engineering support, or administrative roles is a plus but not required. Willingness to learn technical products and business processes is essential.
