About The Position

The Inside Sales Specialist is responsible for working closely with customers of the Tubing Division to determine their needs, answer questions about our products, provide quotes and process sales orders to meet customer needs. The Inside Sales Specialist plays a fundamental role in achieving excellent customer service, while consistently meeting sales objectives. The incumbent will successfully sell the organization's products and/or services by interacting with established customers and developing new prospects. The Inside Sales Specialist will work in a team environment, with the Sales Manager and Sales Agents to generate interest, qualify prospects, and close sales. Internal training will be provided in order for the incumbent to effectively perform their role. This is an intermediate sales position and requires sales experience and a broad knowledge of the organization's policies, products and/or services.

Requirements

  • Preferred Bachelor’s in relevant field or Associate’s Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience or 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate and convey information accurately and effectively via telephone and in writing
  • One year of previous experience in a sales or customer service position
  • Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
  • Strong phone presence
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively

Nice To Haves

  • One year of previous experience in an industrial sales position
  • Working knowledge of welded steel tubing and pipe and the steel industry
  • Knowledge of ASTM specifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare timely quotations of price and delivery to customers based upon their needs and specifications
  • A high level of customer knowledge and market awareness including customer specific information, customer specifications and prints, shipping requirements, and market competition will be required
  • Ensure timely follow up and coordination of quotations tendered to customers to ascertain competitiveness regarding price, delivery, quantity and other factors including competition
  • Investigate all complaints received from customers, production control, shipping, engineering, traffic, or accounting
  • Develop and maintain information files within Salesforce on existing customers and prospects
  • Update sales team on pertinent customer, pricing, competition, and market information
