About The Position

The Inside Sales Specialist supports sales of products and services in cooperation with assigned Account Managers to generate growth. May directly handle sales opportunities with existing customers and prospects. Participates in both individual and team selling with Account Managers. Works closely cross-functionally with Account Managers, Sales Coordinators, accounts receivable, and other sales support resources, as needed, to effectively manage customer relationships, pursue selling opportunities and assist in closing business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree - B.A. /B.S. from four-year College or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience in the automotive industry
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, program management and presentation skills with ability and willingness to communicate, and work with other regions and locations.
  • Proven ability to deal with changes in the business or its environment.
  • An inner drive to understand, communicate and exceed established agreed upon goals.
  • Proven ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external customers/contacts, including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results driven, team- oriented environment.
  • Ability to collaborate and work in a team setting to achieve shared goals
  • Ability to multi-task a high volume of projects at one time
  • Works independently as a self-starter, successful at prioritizing work
  • Decision making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills
  • Strong personal computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Nurtures customer relationships that provide insight and a landscape where ITW has a competitive advantage through our “cradle to grave” relationships
  • Assists the Sales Manager with customer interface/visits, proposals, quoting business, follow-up, presentations, and negotiations
  • Partners with the Sales Manager for entering quotes and opportunities into the CRM system
  • Prepares quotes (cost breakdowns), enters in the customer portal, and provides follow up on quotes and purchase orders with customers
  • Assists in researching historical data and carryover opportunities
  • Organizes own work routine with the guidance provided by sales leadership
  • Works with the account managers and sales coordinators to provide forecast data changes
  • Tracks and shares information on wins and losses
  • Participates in sales meetings to obtain information on sales objectives, promotional actions, new products, improvement ideas, etc.
  • Participates in sales, product and systems training, marketing campaigns, special projects and applies this knowledge in efforts to increase business
  • Manages “day to day” customer requests, forms, surveys, etc.
  • Manages pre-production program management activities
  • Leads GPS $/car coordination and support (current / historical vehicle read-across)
