This position is required to closely interact with the Account Manager’s, the Inside team and assigned project staff to ensure timely completion of each project. Typically requires an Associate's degree in engineering, engineering technology or business management or one to three years experience in estimating, engineering or construction management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in engineering, engineering technology or business management or one to three years experience in estimating, engineering or construction management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to communicate (verbal, written) effectively with others.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with the operation of HVAC systems and temperature controls preferred.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for computing cost estimates for materials, purchased equipment.
- Responsible for the take-off of equipment for proper size, configuration, voltage, options, etc.
- Selects and prices proper equipment per the plans and specifications.
- Creation of preliminary proposal.
- Responsible for identifying possible cost savings and/or cost problems that will occur on various projects.
- Supports sales and develops preliminary submittals as required.
- Maintains competitive advantage and stays abreast of industry trends.
- Maintains job-related supplied inventory by recording quantities required.
- Optimizes expenses by negotiating prices with vendors for materials.
- Documents work by maintaining files for each job.
- Obtains and validates vendor quotes.
- Generates and distributes final proposal.
- Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
