Requirements

  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team.
  • Technically savvy with solid proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Sales-oriented mindset with a track record of building and maintaining relationships.
  • High school diploma (Grade 12) required; post-secondary education in electrical or technical fields is an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in counter sales, inside sales, or related customer service roles.
  • Background in electrical products (lighting, wiring, controls) and/or plumbing products is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with contractors, institutional purchasers, or industrial clients is an asset.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers—responding to inquiries, handling incoming calls, and processing orders.
  • Generate sales by identifying customer needs, upselling relevant products, and offering tailored solutions.
  • Prepare and follow up on quotations, ensuring accurate pricing and timely responses.
  • Source and purchase materials not in stock to meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain product knowledge and stay updated on new products and industry trends.
  • Open new accounts and manage the full sales process, including closing orders.
  • Provide technical product expertise and guidance to customers.
  • Foster and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Provide counter sales, process returns, and assist with shipping, receiving, and inventory stocking.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
