About The Position

To acquire the advantage, we seek an experienced Infrastructure Operations Lead Engineer to manage a team of Windows Systems Engineers, Network Engineers, and Database Administrators responsible for the day-to-day operations of our DevSecOps environment. As the Infrastructure Lead, you will prioritize and assign work, provide technical expertise to subordinates, and work closely with leadership at Defense Media Activity (DMA) to support a component of DMA called WEB.mil (Web enterprise business), which hosts the Public Websites for the DoD and branches of the military.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in operations management in a DevSecOps environment
• IAT Level II or higher certification (Security+)
• Strong knowledge of DevSecOps tools and practices, including CI/CD, agile, and automation
• Experience managing and leading a team of Systems Engineers
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience working with Jira/Confluence or similar tools
• Experience with Windows Server, VMware, and version control systems such as GitHub or GitLab
• Experience with CI/CD tools, including but not limited to Jenkins and GitHub
• Experience with AWS architecture and design

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with the Department of Defense or other government agencies
• Experience with PowerShell scripting
• Knowledge of Linux operating systems
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team of Windows Systems Engineers, Network Engineers, and Database Administrators responsible for the day-to-day operations of our DevSecOps environment.
• Prioritize and assign work through Jira/Confluence, ensuring that team members are working on the most important tasks first
• Provide technical expertise to subordinates, guide them through complex technical issues, and provide mentorship to help them grow in their careers.
• Implement and maintain security controls such as STIGs and IAVAs to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Participate as a leader in DISA Inspections, such as CORA and CSSP
• Monitor and analyze system performance, identifying and resolving issues promptly
• Collaborate with other teams, including development, security, service desk, and QA, to ensure the seamless functioning of the DevSecOps environment.
• Work closely with leadership at DMA to ensure that our DevSecOps environment aligns with the organization's strategic goals and objectives
• Continuously improve the DevSecOps environment, identifying areas for optimization, and implementing solutions to address them
