As a Infrastructure Configuration Consultant within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Ashburn, VA. Requirements

• Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
• Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience.
• Certifications are often desired.
• In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Nice To Haves

• Execute precision racking and stacking of compute, storage, and network equipment in accordance with rack elevation plans, weight distribution guidelines, airflow standards (hot/cold aisle), and OEM specifications.
• Expertise in configuring servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling systems to meet performance, scalability, and availability requirements.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows/Linux), virtualization platforms, and network protocols to support reliable infrastructure operations.
• Ability to manage infrastructure changes using ITIL best practices, ensuring accuracy, documentation, and minimal service disruption.
• Proven skill in diagnosing and resolving complex hardware, software, and connectivity issues within large-scale data center environments.
• Understanding of data center security standards, access controls, and compliance requirements (e.g., SOC, ISO, HIPAA) to ensure infrastructure integrity and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Manages the requirements for planning, organizing, and implementing enterprise-wide technology infrastructure and configuration management functions.
• Leads the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of major configuration changes from acquisition to termination.
• Oversees the effective implementation and use of the configuration management process, methodology, tools, procedures, and audit activities.
• Develops and publishes metrics to qualify and quantify configuration success; ensures that configuration practices are in compliance with standards.
• Ensures the accuracy and validity of the configuration database for content on assets, major infrastructure and platform components, system documentation and service components.
