About The Position

The I.T. Technician provides maintenance and support for every aspect of electronic equipment such as computer hardware, software, networking, and telephony. The person in this position will perform general technical support functions, including physical installation, assembly, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software at the workstation level. The technician position will work under the supervision of the IT Manager. This person will work with a great deal of independence to establish daily and weekly work order priorities, and perform related work as required. This person must demonstrate and strive to constantly maintain proficiency in learning and using technology software and hardware. This person will have office space at the Central Office location but will travel to other branches as needed and perform work within our branches as well as in their own office space.

Requirements

  • Position deals with a variety of problems and requires strong troubleshooting skills.
  • The questions/issues encountered daily are diverse, requiring familiarity and flexibility to learn in multiple areas of IT.
  • Ability to listen attentively to users questions, concerns and effectively communicate is a must.
  • Comfortable working independently and completing tasks within deadlines and SLA’s.
  • Follows established SOP’s on known issues.
  • Maintain Knowledge Base as new issues are encountered.
  • Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail, organizational skills and critical thinking.
  • Provides support to all areas of the organization and levels of leadership.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in computer science, information technology or related degree program. Related experience exceeding requirements may be substituted.
  • One to four years of work experience in a technical support, hardware support or equivalent role is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Current industry certifications such as A+, Net+, or Sec+ are preferred.
  • Credit Union experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, expert Windows 111 support, Active Directory, ticketing systems, basic IP telephony principles, LAN/ WAN connectivity support, basic PowerShell scripting, AWS, Azure Microsoft 365 SaaS apps and experience with the Symitar Platform is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance over the internal ticketing system, phone, email, or in person.
  • Triages, resolves and escalates tickets as necessary to appropriate teams.
  • Performs remote and in person troubleshooting, following established troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Installs, configures, and upgrades workstation operating systems and software.
  • Installs, assembles and configures computers, monitors, and peripherals such as printers, scanners, and related hardware.
  • Troubleshoot problems with computer systems, including but not limited to hardware, software, networking, security, and cloud; makes repairs and corrections where required.
  • Provides help desk functions to facilitate exchange of information to business users, technical teams and Credit Union members; implements solutions or notifies outsource providers as required.
  • Assists in instructing staff in the use of standard business and administrative software and hardware.
  • Maintains current knowledge of hardware, software and network technology.
  • Tracks all problems, requests and documents resolutions.
  • Stays current with system information, changes, and updates.
