About The Position

FWI is assembling a team to manage, maintain, secure, and accredit the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) Academic Network. This network provides the essential IT environment for all teaching and instruction at DLIFLC, serving students, staff, faculty, and guests. The ITS Lead will act as the primary technical escalation point for end-user support, bridging helpdesk operations, desktop services, and enterprise IT systems to ensure efficient problem resolution. This role involves developing solutions for complex network, desktop, and server issues, analyzing existing systems for proactive improvements, and delivering responsive, expert-level technical support to maintain a smooth learning environment for the military language training community. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Requirements

  • BA/BS from accredited college/university with minimum 5 years experience OR AA/AS with minimum 7 years experience OR 9+ years related technical experience (in lieu of degree)
  • Requires one of the following certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP
  • Windows or Apple Certified Technician
  • Advanced knowledge of current Microsoft desktop and server operating systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Exchange, SharePoint, and other server applications
  • Advanced knowledge of computer and server hardware
  • Familiarity with network troubleshooting
  • Experience with Ivanti Management Suite (or equivalent ITSM Platforms), Microsoft SCCM, or Jamf Pro
  • Professional customer service skills
  • Resourceful and able to take initiative in a dynamic environment
  • Secret level security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Provide highest level of technical support to end users by handling escalated service requests
  • Develop solutions for complex network, desktop, and server problems
  • Analyze existing systems and make proactive recommendations for improvements
  • Develop, maintain, and implement systems, applications, and networking configurations
  • Oversee deployment and configuration of desktops, laptops, tablets, and peripherals (Apple & Windows)
  • Coordinate Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) remediation on workstations
  • Ensure compliance with DoD Information Assurance standards for all client devices
  • May be required to travel (CONUS/OCONUS)
