Your role will be to provide the highest tier of technical support for Multnomah County Circuit Court custom applications, which includes monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining the court’s automated processes. Your teammates will rely on you to query databases and build reports. The position requires a commitment to understanding the business needs that drive custom development and working within technical requirements to translate those needs into program features. Proposed technological solutions must be sustainable, and the complex ideas driving those solutions need to be communicated in an understandable way. You will anticipate impacts on the organization and communicate in advance with those who are impacted. You are expected to independently manage the complete project life cycle on all assigned tasks. Preparing written documentation, analysis, and technical recommendations will be an important part of your job. You will work as part of a development team, prioritizing projects together, and cross-training to back each other up. You will also routinely work with others outside the development team, mentoring other IT teammates and collaborating with nontechnical project team members. You will work with court staff and judges, IT specialists, public and private sector agencies, and members of the public. This position utilizes a variety of software development tools including, but not limited to, Open-Source Libraries, Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SharePoint, PowerShell, Microsoft IIS, and Microsoft SQL. Programming languages may include SQL, PHP, Javascript, and C#. We are excited to have you on our team! Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Requirements

  • The qualified candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, management, public administration, or a related field.
  • At least four (4) years of technical experience in the duties and infrastructure support required for the position.
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to eight (8) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
  • You must have a current driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio or equivalent reporting tool.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio.
  • Experience with Microsoft BizTalk.
  • Demonstrated reliability in a work environment with a high degree of independence.
  • Demonstrated understanding of when to elevate an issue to a supervisor or manager.
  • Demonstrated attention to technical detail.
