About The Position

The Boeing Company seeks an experienced Information Technology Manager to join our team in Everett, WA . The Information Technology Manager will lead the Visualization & Extended Reality (XR) engineering team within the Information Digital Technology & Security (IDT&S) Engineering & Product Support division. You will lead a globally distributed software team that designs, builds, deploys, and supports visualization and XR solutions that enable Boeing engineers across the product lifecycle. This hands‑on manager will combine technical leadership, people development, vendor oversight, and cross‑functional delivery to improve engineering productivity, system reliability, and user experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or STEM related technical field
  • 3+ years’ experience leading software engineering teams (including remote/distributed teams)
  • 3+ years’ experience delivering visualization, XR/AR/VR, PLM integrations, or large engineering applications
  • Experience with Agile software engineering practices: CI/CD, automated testing, code review, and cloud/native deployment patterns

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in relevant discipline
  • Experience with visualization frameworks, 3D graphics, Unity/Unreal, WebGL, or comparable XR stacks
  • Experience integrating with PLM systems (Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia, CATIA, 3DX) or related engineering toolchains
  • Experience with enterprise security, identity, and cloud architectures used in aerospace/engineering contexts
  • Experience with vendor/contractor management experience and budget/resource planning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present status, risks, and tradeoffs to technical and non‑technical leaders

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a distributed Visualization & XR engineering team and direct reports supporting the broader Production System Design product family; cultivate an inclusive, accountable, human‑centered team culture
  • Own the team roadmap and deliverables: plan work, prioritize backlog, and ensure on‑time delivery of milestones and capabilities
  • Manage the full software lifecycle: requirements, architecture, implementation, automated testing, CI/CD, release, deployment, and maintenance
  • Coordinate multi‑team integrations so visualization/XR solutions interoperate with PLM engineering tools, and enterprise infrastructure
  • Partner with Product, IT Operations, and IT Security to collect requirements, define acceptance criteria, and set realistic timelines
  • Monitor system health using KPIs/SLAs; drive triage, root‑cause analysis, and remediation actions to meet availability and performance targets
  • Oversee vendor and contractor relationships: define SOWs/SLAs, evaluate performance, and manage contractual commitments
  • Own resource planning and budget inputs: hiring plans, tool/service acquisition, staffing tradeoffs, and succession planning
  • Evaluate emerging visualization and XR technologies; sponsor pilots and recommend adoption based on ROI, integration risk, and time‑to‑value
  • Communicate program status, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership; approve major technical approaches and production change controls in partnership with enterprise architecture and governance
