About The Position

This position is responsible for providing technical support for the users and computers in FWP’s Helena Region. This includes resolving application and hardware problems, assisting users with IT procurement, maintaining inventory and maintenance records for hardware and software, and planning/scheduling computer conversions and upgrades. Network Services technicians are physically located in FWP’s regional headquarters and must be able to work independently while collaborating electronically with peers statewide. The role also supports the Automated Licensing System provider’s terminals, printers, and operating systems, which serve various businesses from large sporting goods stores to small bait shops. Regional technicians manage and install central printers, install, troubleshoot, and maintain software (including operating systems, shared applications, utilities, and upgrades), maintain server configuration documentation, and monitor server disk space and shared resource availability. The position offers a wide variety of technical challenges, from video conference support to radio code plug updates and assisting home office employees with internal site access.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and office automation technologies and products
  • Basic knowledge of database concepts and theories
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, information technology or a related field or 3 years of directly related qualifying experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for the Automated Licensing System provider’s terminal, printers and operating systems
  • Manage and install central printers in their regions
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain software including operating systems, shared applications, utilities, and upgrades
  • Maintain documentation on server configuration
  • Monitor server disk space utilization and availability of shared resources
  • Provide video conference support
  • Update code plugs on warden’s radios
  • Help home office employees access the agency’s internal site
