About The Position

The Information Specialist is responsible for working with Plant and Operational Support personnel to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and monitoring accounts to ensure payments are up to date.

Requirements

  • Accounting degree is a plus but not required.
  • Working knowledge of accounting and\or bookkeeping.
  • Good analytical and organizational skills.
  • Able to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong skills in Excel and Word.
  • SAP knowledge is a plus but not required.
  • Computer literate, in SAP and PC based applications. Strong Excel skills.
  • Diplomacy and ability to function as a leader in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review plant production and post in SAP.
  • Run SAP reports to post sales.
  • Research finished goods inventory variances for the plant and rail terminals.
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of sales, production, fuel, and cost.
  • Monthly reporting of work orders, fuel reconciliation, inventory variances and other misc. reports.
  • Work with operations personnel to comply with annual document retention policies of the company.
  • Processing purchase orders and invoices for the division.
  • Work with vendors and purchasing personnel to ensure invoices are processed in a timely manner and expenses are recorded in the period they are incurred. Perform vendor reconciliation as deemed necessary and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
  • Calculate and identify monthly expense accruals.
  • Support plant personnel by creating purchase orders, work orders and requisitions as needed.
  • Support Plant Manager with P&L, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules regulations.
  • Greets visitors to the plant and maintains plant visitors log.
  • Maintain plant bulletin boards.
  • Participate in plant site assessments.
  • Wear proper safety equipment while on the plant grounds; Meet or exceed company safety standards.
  • Support and identify process improvement efforts.
  • Assist Managers with analysis, ad-hoc reporting and other support as requested.
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.
