Wells Fargo is seeking a hands‑on cybersecurity engineering leader who actively codes while leading. This role is not an oversight‑only position—you’ll be expected to stay hands‑on with Java and React, contribute directly to engineering decisions, and lead by example while building and running critical security platforms at enterprise scale. What You’ll Do Be able to roll up your sleeves and code critical solution components in Java and React while leading a team of security engineers Design, build, test, and maintain highly complex Agentic AI & cybersecurity platforms and services Lead implementation and operation of Identity and Access Management (IAM) and IGA solutions Deploy, integrate, and operate COTS security products, including customization and extension Drive secure application and platform delivery using modern engineering and DevSecOps practices Lead large security initiatives from design through production, remaining technically engaged throughout Review and correlate security logs and participate in complex incident response and root‑cause analysis Guide modernization of legacy and home‑grown applications into resilient, scalable platforms Set a high bar for engineering quality through clean code, automation, observability, and testing Mentor engineers through technical coaching, code reviews, and career development Participate in hiring and talent development to build durable, high‑performing teams Required Qualifications 5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education 2+ years of Leadership experience Strong, demonstrable hands‑on coding experience with Java and React Experience building, deploying, and maintaining production‑grade applications Solid understanding of IAM concepts including authentication, authorization, and access lifecycle Experience with IGA technologies and tools such as SailPoint, IBM Trivoli Identity and Access Management, Oracle Identity and Access Management, or similar platforms Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines and secure DevSecOps workflows Proven ability to deploy and customize COTS security products in enterprise environments Ideal Candidate Profile You are a true player‑coach—equally comfortable writing code and leading engineers You have “been there, done that” delivering mission‑critical security platforms You build credibility by contributing directly to designs, reviews, and production code You develop strong teams by setting clear standards and leading from the front You continuously improve your skills and expect the same growth mindset from your team Why This Role Hands‑on technical leadership with real ownership over critical security platforms Opportunity to modernize complex systems while influencing long‑term architecture Work with experienced technologists solving meaningful, high‑impact security problems A role built for leaders who still love engineering, not just managing Job Expectations Ability to work on‑site in one of the listed locations If you’re a senior cybersecurity engineer who still codes, enjoys leading talented engineers, and wants to build secure, modern platforms at scale, we encourage you to apply. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location.
