Nightwing is seeking an Information Review and Release Analyst for a flexible work schedule position in the Tysons, VA area, supporting a dynamic fast-paced business office on the KODIAK Program. This role involves overseeing the declassification of documents related to sensitive litigation cases, ensuring strict confidence and adherence to criteria such as Executive Order (EO) 13526, the Freedom of Information Act, and Privacy Act laws. The individual will also act as a liaison for Other Government Agencies (OGA) and contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on innovation and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Knowledge of the criteria of Executive Order (EO) 13526, or as amended, the Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act laws.
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph Required Day 1.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the process of declassification of documents related to litigation cases, such as civil or criminal cases.
  • Record the chronological order of events from beginning to end process.
  • Handle sensitive cases with strict confidence.
  • Organize documents in preparation for legal counsel to review, ensuring proper and accurate recording.
  • Act as a liaison for Other Government Agency (OGA) involved in the process.
  • Conduct desktop research and analyze results to determine the relevance of a new search or whether requested records have been previously declassified and/or released.
  • Provide the rationale for redaction actions on the electronic version of the documents using codes provided in the Sponsors declassification guidance.
  • Provide recommendations regarding the release of the documents for Sponsor approval.
  • Record decisions in the Sponsors automated systems.
  • Determine if a record contains Other Government Agency (OGA) equities and requires external referral or if the record requires non-routine handling.
  • Manage the referral process.
  • Organize documents in preparation for declassification review and correctly assign these items to the proper equity holder.
  • Research previous declassification/release decisions as necessary to ensure accuracy and consistency and provide feedback to the Sponsor.
