About The Position

Information Literacy Librarian, Special Term Contract Spring Semester (January 20 - May 2026) Department: Learning Resources/Library This full-time (37.5 hours per week) temporary position (Spring 2026) advises and appropriately assists all members of the college and community in the location of information and resources, demonstrates the use of catalogs, indexes and reference sources and instructs in the methodology of research techniques, and provides instructional assistance through information literacy (IL) sessions including collaborating with faculty to promote IL across the campuses. In addition, this position takes primary responsibility for providing leadership, development, assessment, and coordination of IL instruction at the college both face-to-face and virtual, synchronous and asynchronous, including the assignment of library faculty to course sections for IL instruction, development of online tutorials, LibGuides, and other instructional materials, maintains records and provides data regarding IL and embedded librarian programs, serves as liaison to the departments of Arts & Communication and Language & Literature, remains aware of current best practices and developing trends in information literacy.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in library/information science from an ALA-accredited institution
  • Experience in providing reference and information literacy services
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Two years professional higher education library experience, preferably in a community college setting
  • Experience creating digital content, instructional materials, tutorials
  • Experience training others to provide reference services in an academic library setting
  • This position requires availability to teach at all campuses and through all modalities.
