About The Position

The Department of Social Work & Public Administration at Seton Hall University is hiring a one-year, full-time contract faculty member who will teach courses in Public Administration, perform recruitment activities for the Department’s graduate programs and who will provide administrative support to the Department. Seton Hall University is located in South Orange, New Jersey, 14 miles from New York City. It is the oldest Catholic diocesan institution of higher education in the United States and is home to about 6,300 undergraduate and 4,700 graduate students. Requirements

  • Strong administrative skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, written communication skills, attention to detail
  • Terminal degree (Ph.D. or other doctoral-level degree) in Public Administration or related field

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in nonprofit management and experiential education is highly desirable
  • Data driven and familiarity with reporting and analysis
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and proven ability to learn and use new technology, including social media and university systems
  • Able and willing to work non-standard/varied working hours and to travel independently

Responsibilities

  • teach courses in the MPA program dependent upon programmatic need, based on their area of specialization
  • support the University's commitment to grow enrollments and ensure the academic vibrancy of the Department’s graduate programs through recruitment, training and potentially publishing a newsletter
  • perform recruitment activities for the Department’s graduate programs
  • provide administrative support to the Department
