Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Public Health, or a related field; certification as an Infection Control Professional (CIC) is preferred.
  • APICA Certification preferred and required after 1 year of employment.
  • Proven experience in infection prevention and control within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control standards, CDC guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to educate and influence staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting tools.

Nice To Haves

  • certification as an Infection Control Professional (CIC) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention and control policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Conduct surveillance of infections within the facility to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Educate staff, patients, and visitors on infection prevention practices and protocols.
  • Investigate infection outbreaks and collaborate with clinical teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting of infection data to relevant health authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to infection control.
  • Participate in infection control committees and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
