Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, QI and in collaboration with the Infectious Disease Physician, is responsible for development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive Infection Control Program throughout Sturdy Health in accordance with the Massachusetts Nursing Practice Act, DNV, CDC, CMS, OSHA and other state and nationally organized agencies’ infection control requirements and recommendations. Education/Training: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN, MSN preferred Successful completion of orientation Participate in continuing educational activities at the department, state, and national levels to promote personal growth and maintain a current knowledge base commensurate with latest research and scholarly knowledge. Licenses/Certification: Current Massachusetts licensure Certification in Infection Control (C.I.C.) preferred Required Qualifications and Skills: Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical experience with advanced knowledge of epidemiology and infectious disease. Command of verbal and written English; Positive interpersonal communication skills and good organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications and Skills: N/A Essential Job Functions: Is responsible for providing guidance to clinical and non-clinical staff relative to infection control standards. Coordinates assignments, workflow, and activities/provides guidance for Clinical staff related to Infection Control practices Ensures Hospital’s compliance with regulatory infection control requirements, including state and federal agencies. Interacts with the multidisciplinary Infection Control Committee to ensure an ongoing, effective, hospital-wife program, which addresses prevention of transmission of infections among patients of all age groups, cultures, and disability concerns, employees, physicians and other licensed independent practitioners, contract service workers, volunteers, students and visitors.
