In addition to our healthcare services, we offer comprehensive behavioral health services on the hospital campus and Bayview campus in Chula Vista. Services include psychiatric continuum of care for adult patients, inpatient services, and intensive outpatient services. The Infection Control Coordinator is responsible for surveillance, prevention and control of infection. Assists with policy and procedure development and implementation while maintaining CDC, OSHA, AOA HFAP/TJC/CMS/local regulatory and other regulatory agency standards or directives. Acts as a primary education consultant to hospital employees, physicians, patients, volunteers and visitors in safe Infection Control/Prevention practices. Coordinates all hospital infection control activities with the Infection Control Committee, Medical Staff and hospital employees. Responds to potential exposures by communicating with patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in acute care setting.
  • Successful completion of IC Fundamental Course if less than one (1) year experience and within one year of hire required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in life sciences or related field preferred.
  • At least one (1) year in infection control or employee health, preferred.
  • Completion of formal APIC courses in Infection Control desirable.
