Woodard & Curran also aids employees in earning, upgrading, and keeping their certifications within the industry. What will you be doing at Woodard & Curran? In this Environmental Operator/Groundwater Technician role, you will regularly participate in the daily tasks involving the operations and maintenance of an Industrial Wastewater Treatment and Groundwater Extraction System as directed by the Plant Manager. You will play a key role in operating and maintaining collection pipelines, our distribution network, and all associated components, as well as performing preventative maintenance and repair of all plant equipment along with daily inspections and ground maintenance and landscaping. Lastly, you will be responsible for performing data entry and report generation, including data for preparing the Monthly Operating Report and coordinating to ensure that other plant employees follow established administrative, safety, and operating policies while monitoring and controlling assigned tasks to ensure cost-effective service to meet budget. Schedule: This role offers a unique schedule of four days on, three days off. You’ll work Sunday through Wednesday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional adjustments to meet operational needs. After completing training, you’ll participate in a paid on-call rotation to handle after-hours calls.

Requirements

  • OSHA 40hr. HAZWOPER certification, or the ability to obtain within 2 months, a must.
  • Connecticut Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator's License Class 1 or the ability to obtain through the operator’s exam within 1 year, or reciprocity a must.
  • A valid Connecticut motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Working knowledge of the principles, procedures, methods, equipment, materials, and tools employed in the operation' and maintenance of Wastewater Treatment and Groundwater extraction Systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions involved in wastewater treatment work.
  • Knowledge of computer applications and possess basic computer skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.
