We are currently looking for an experienced Industrial Sewer to be responsible for all facets of set-up and operation of an industrial sewing machine for the purpose of ensuring quality items. The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial sewing, heavy stitching, and the ability to interpret work orders with a variety of instructions. To excel in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of Industrial Sewing and how to operate the equipment skillfully and safely. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail. This position is a temp-to-hire using a third-party agency. Employees are evaluated after 90 days andoffered a position with the company if they are meeting expectations.
Requirements
- Knowledge of upholstery tools including industrial sewing machine, hot cutting knife, scissors, rotary, and straight edge cutters, and electric fabric cutters
- Ability to read and understand highly detailed Engineering Drawings
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Must be highly organized and be able to plan around set deadlines
- Proven work experience as an industrial sewer/upholsterer
- Must have excellent attention to detail
- Ability to draw and interpret designs
- Must have a positive, teamwork attitude above all else
- High school diploma or equivalent
