Our on-the-job training and team of experts mean you'll be set up for success. StandardAero is looking for an Industrial Mechanic I to join our team at our San Antonio, TX. This role supports maintenance and repair activities by performing mechanical inspections, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring safe, efficient operation of our shop tools and machinery. We're looking for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as an industrial mechanic
  • 3+ years of experience working with computer skills (MS, office, excel etc.)
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Related military experience with government equipment
  • Completion of an industrial mechanic apprenticeship program; or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Read diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Install stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
  • Troubleshoot, inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Adjust machinery and repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Construct foundations for machinery.
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
  • Schedule routine preventative maintenance work.
  • Make recommendations to management and engineering for improvement of preventative maintenance practices.
  • Recommend replacement of equipment as required and assesses the condition of used equipment prior to purchase.
  • Be responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.
