Job Description We are looking for a 2nd Shift Maintenance Lead in Lenoir, NC 3pm-11pm Monday-Friday! Must be able to work OT as needed. GENERAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform plant Start up and Shut down procedures when required. Perform Maintenance operations without any direct supervision on Weekends and Holidays when required. Perform function of Maintenance Leader as directed by Maintenance Supervisor. Responsible for the proper operation of the Maintenance Department during time periods when Maintenance Manager is not available. Responsible for proper management of Maintenance and personnel during time periods when the Maintenance Manager and/or Engineering Manager are not available. Be available to perform as acting Maintenance Supervisor as directed by Maintenance Manager. Obtain pricing on any item or service required to support company requirements. Specify proper material specifications for items required to maintain readiness of department and to support engineering and production requirements. Change equipment setup parameters requested by Engineering. Fabricate and/or modify equipment required to support company requirements. Verify equipment Setup parameters per Manufacturing Work Instruction Manual. Verify and record equipment setup parameters and submit to Maintenance Manager for review by Engineering. Train other Maintenance personnel in proper procedures and practices for Mold Setups, Equipment repair, and Preventive Maintenance procedures. Diagnose, repair, and/or replacement of components on all systems and equipment, including but not limited to Hydraulic Presses, Ovens, Oil Heaters, Assembly Machines, Drill Fixtures, Cooling Tanks, Bonders, Temperature Controllers, Air Compressors, Water and Cooling Systems, Molds, and punches. Sharpen Drills, Cutters, and knives. Perform Preventative Maintenance Work Orders as directed by Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Supervisor. Assist in the removal and installation of Mold, Dies, Punches, and all secondary support equipment. Assist in the repair and installation of all equipment, and systems within this facility. Assist in the installation of pneumatic, hydraulic, water, and cooling lines. Assist in the cleaning of presses, ovens, oil heaters, molds, and all other equipment. Perform errands required to maintain efficient operation of the department. Give general assistance to all Maintenance Personnel. Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner and in accordance with good safety practices and company safety programs and policies. Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Prior experience in a maintenance leadership role preferred. Must have experience in light fabrication of equipment of components. Must understand and be capable of performing Plant startup and shutdown operations. Must have experience in Mold Setup, Die Setup, PM Maintenance procedures and practices. Must have basic understanding of purpose and format of Maintenance Setup and Create Instruction Sheets. Must have basic understanding of Manufacturing Work Instruction Manual as they pertain to Mold Setups. Must know location and type of all ovens, oil heaters, and presses used at this facility. Capable of reading minor electrical schematics and understanding their function. Must be able to test for proper voltage and current levels in all equipment and systems. Must know purpose of basic electrical components including but not limited to fuses, transformers, relays, lamps, circuit breakers, pressure transducers, travel transducers, and all types of switches. Must understand and practice all electrical safety procedures and practices. Must have the ability to operate and understand the use of Electrical meters, Ohm Meters, voltage testers, and amperage meters. Capable of reading minor Hydraulic and Pneumatic schematics and understand their function. Must be able to verify proper operating pressures on all Hydraulic presses and equipment. Must know purpose of basic hydraulic components including but not limited to valves, and pumps. Basic knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller principles including PLC types, Input/Output structures, and addressing. Ability to diagnose/troubleshoot, and perform maintenance/repair on simple equipment and systems within the plant. Must have experience in sharpening drills, cutters, and knives. Must have experience in the assisting of the dismantling and re-assembly of drill motors, and drill fixtures. Advanced knowledge of Hand Tools and their operation. Advanced knowledge of Plant Operations and procedures. Advanced knowledge of Mold Setup Operations and procedures. Must hold a valid company issued Fork Truck Operators license. Possess good communication, teamwork, and people skills. Basic computer skills. Advanced mechanical skills. Must understand and practice all safety procedures. Must be self-motivated.
