About The Position

As a leading dealer of industrial equipment nationwide, we’re looking for a skilled Industrial Equipment Technician to join our Compactor team in the field. This role is 100% field-based, supporting Richmond, VA and surrounding areas, ensuring our customers’ equipment stays running smoothly. In this role, you’ll handle maintenance and repairs on a variety of industrial equipment, including motors, pumps, hydraulics, welding repairs, and other mechanical systems. If you have a strong background in electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, mechanical repairs, and welding, this is your chance to put your skills into action every day while providing hands-on support to our customers. Requirements

  • Self-sufficient and able to work independently in a fully field-based role
  • Manage and maintain truck inventory effectively
  • Report to the Chesapeake branch once per week
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass and maintain a DOT physical
  • Must have your own tools
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to every client
  • Willing to participate in an on-call rotation as needed
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on experience with electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, and mechanical repairs
  • Skilled in STICK welding and cutting
  • Ability to work comfortably in tight spaces as needed.
  • Adaptability to varied environmental conditions, indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach effectively.
  • Capability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Independence in entering and exiting various vehicles as required.
  • Willingness to pass a DOT physical exam for safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Follow strict safety protocols, including lockout/tagout, fire watch, and fall protection measures
  • Maintain and repair essential components such as motors, pumps, cylinders, and valves
  • Perform routine maintenance according to equipment schedules to uphold performance standards
  • Utilize torches and cutting tools for repairs as needed
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support in the field
  • Take on additional tasks as needed to support team objectives
