About the job As an integral member of our Operations Team, the Industrial Engineering Intern will play a pivotal role in supporting Project Managers, Production Team Managers, and our Manufacturing Engineer within a fast‑paced assembly and manufacturing environment. Your contributions will directly support the efficiency, quality, and overall success of our organization. This is a role based in Richmond, VA. As a part of the team, you will: Learn how to create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) by working alongside experienced team members to understand manufacturing workflows and documentation standards. Develop skills in conducting time studies and identifying process improvements, gaining exposure to real‑world manufacturing efficiency tools and methodologies. Build foundational project coordination experience, applying basic project management principles under the guidance of Project Managers and Operations leaders. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand how Production, Engineering, and Project Management work together in a manufacturing environment. Receive hands‑on training in safe work practices, quality expectations, and operational ethics, learning how these principles guide daily decision‑making. Strengthen your ability to take direction, manage priorities, and contribute to team goals, with support and coaching from experienced operations professionals.

Requirements

  • You are a rising college junior or senior with preference for students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also thriving in a team environment.
