We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer Technician at our Mocksville, NC facility to help support organizational growth and manufacturing operations through lean implementation, process optimization, and hands-on problem solving. This role works closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to streamline processes, improve part presentation, and enhance overall workflow. The ideal candidate is curious, motivated, and eager to challenge the status quo while building strong relationships at all levels of the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience solving problems in a manufacturing, industrial, technical, or operations environment.
  • Strong understanding of basic lean principles (5S, waste identification, standard work, etc.).
  • Basic proficiency with Excel and comfort working with data (sorting, filtering, pivot tables preferred).
  • Solid problem-solving ability with a desire to understand current processes and continuously drive improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable working directly with individuals at all levels within the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial preferred), supply chain, or similar field.
  • Alternatively, an associate’s degree in a technical field and 3 years of experience as a problem solver/change agent, OR 5 years of experience as a problem solver/change agent in a manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in supply chain, logistics, or material flow.
  • Exposure to: Time studies Kaizen facilitation Assembly line balancing Tier meetings or shop-floor communication systems Flexpipe or workstation design
  • Basic CAD skills are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support and implement lean tools such as 5S, tier meetings, value stream mapping, standard work, and kaizen events.
  • Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and capacity assessments to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in line balancing activities to optimize assembly processes and reduce waste.
  • Maintain and update standard process documentation.
  • Design and build part presentation solutions or workstation structures using Flexpipe, extruded aluminum, wood, or similar materials.
  • Assist with layout changes, ergonomic improvements, and material flow optimization.
  • Support development and execution of experiments, trials, and pilot improvements on the shop floor.
  • Collect, clean, and manipulate basic production data to support decision-making.
  • Use Excel or similar tools to analyze trends, build simple dashboards, and present findings.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and assist teams in understanding performance gaps.
  • Work cross-functionally with production, supply chain, quality, and engineering teams.
  • Communicate improvement ideas clearly and concisely to operators, leads, and leadership.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by engaging employees in problem-solving activities.
  • Performs other duties and special projects assigned by manager.
