Design material flow processes and storage systems to establish efficient material delivery to the factory and sub-assembly lines for electric vehicle automotive components. Interface with Manufacturing Engineering, Packaging, Logistics Operations, EH&S during launch to develop Material Flow processes and systems. Identify and implement continuous improvement projects. Complete dock utilization analysis, support dynamic simulations, maintain PFEP data, calculate storage space requirements and design material delivery routes. Input and report out KPI data on a weekly basis. Develop business cases as needed for Material Flow installations. Contribute to internal document development, standards, best practices, lessons learned and training modules. Develop requirements for Material Flow equipment: fork trucks, tuggers, dollies, and lineside display. Develop station layouts for lineside operations, offline SPD cells, kitting, and repack activities. General Optimization of floor space, logistics, delivery, and display equipment in the assembly plant. Prioritize Material Flow Layout Engineer activities. Coordinate Layout Engineer and Equipment design staff activities. Experience with installation of material handling equipment such as Rack indexers, turn tables, over/under shuttles, and conveyors. New launch projects on specific production lines focusing on material flow from warehouse to the border of line location. Set up of new part numbers and engineering changes. Creation of station designs from scratch, in base of production rate and according assembly processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Automotive Engineering with 6 months experience
  • 40 hr/wk
