About The Position

Step into the heart of steelmaking as our Industrial Electrician Join the maintenance team powering one of the world’s largest steel producers. You’ll keep essential electrical systems running in a heavy industrial setting—working with everything from PLCs and motors to cranes and conveyor systems—so operations never miss a beat. The pay rate for this role is $32/hr . A day in the life Your shift kicks off with a safety check, then you’re on the floor—reading schematics, tracing AC/DC circuits, and tackling electrical issues that keep production moving. Some tasks you’ll handle solo; others you’ll tackle alongside fellow technicians and operators. You’ll navigate different plant areas—hot, cold, wet, greasy, and noisy—using standard and specialized tools, plus mobile equipment, pendant and overhead cranes, and forklifts to access and position equipment safely.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of manufacturing or industrial experience (military experience welcome) or equivalent education in any of the following: industrial electronics; motors and controls; electrical power and schematics/print reading; computers and PLCs; electronics; AC/DC theory; test instruments and instrumentation; electrical maintenance; commercial construction/installation.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work 8–12 hour shifts (days or nights), including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Strong safety mindset—PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, and metatarsal boots) is required and provided at no cost.
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and self-direction.
  • Ability to pass required assessment test(s).
  • PLC troubleshooting
  • Motor maintenance, repair, and replacement
  • Electrical troubleshooting and repair

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair a wide range of electrical and electronic systems using schematics, AC/DC theory, and PLCs.
  • Support operating teams when needed to maintain continuous production.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision or collaborate within a maintenance crew.
  • Travel across multiple plant zones and adapt to varying environmental conditions.
