About The Position

The Industrial Production Maintenance Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment used in a high-volume manufacturing or production environment. This role focuses on minimizing downtime, ensuring safe operation of equipment, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or apprenticeship preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an industrial maintenance electrician in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including: 480V / 3-phase power, Control circuits, PLC I/O and basic troubleshooting, VFDs and motor controls
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Working knowledge of electrical safety standards and best practices
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to work overtime, off-shift hours, and on-call as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with metal fabrication equipment (punches, presses, brakes)
  • Experience with PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
  • Experience in continuous-process manufacturing
  • CMMS experience
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues on industrial production equipment, including PLC-controlled machinery, conveyors, and process systems
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems such as motors, motor controls, VFDs, sensors, relays, contactors, and control panels
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and technical manuals
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on electrical systems to improve reliability and reduce unplanned downtime
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, retrofits, and new equipment installations
  • Support troubleshooting efforts during production downtime, including nights, weekends, or on-call rotations as required
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, and company safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout procedures
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage in the CMMS system
  • Collaborate with maintenance mechanics, engineers, and operations personnel to resolve equipment issues
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
