Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Perform routine inspections of electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for repairs.
  • Install and maintain electrical panels, circuit breakers, transformers, and wiring systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and company safety standards.
  • Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and other safety procedures to prevent electrical hazards.
  • Document repairs, maintenance tasks, and safety inspections.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical diagrams, and work orders.
  • Diagnose electrical malfunctions using testing devices such as voltmeters, ammeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Install and repair control systems including motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Coordinate work with contractors, engineers, building maintenance staff, and supervisors.
  • Provide clear updates on job status, timelines, and required materials.
  • Train or mentor junior electricians or apprentices (if applicable).
