About The Position

As a key member of the development team for Austin Habitat for Humanity, the Individual Giving Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and managing individual donor acquisition and retention strategies as part of the organizational development and communications plan. The Individual Giving Manager works closely with all aspects of the organization, and is responsible for representing AHFH throughout the Central Texas community. This position includes a strong focus on prospect research, donor cultivation, and stewardship. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least three (3) years of professional fundraising experience
  • Have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a professional, unbiased, and ethical manner.
  • Demonstrated success in planning, implementing, and analyzing individual giving initiatives including direct mail, e-appeals, social media campaigns, donor acquisition.
  • Ability to interface with individuals from diverse backgrounds and faiths
  • Superior communication skills (both written and verbal), organizational skills, and time management skills are required
  • Self-starter, motivated by good works and meeting interesting people
  • Expert level experience using all facets of Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the execution of a robust cultivation and stewardship fundraising program focusing on major, mid-level and annual donors
  • Plan and execute annual giving and donor acquisition campaigns including direct mail, Amplify Austin, GivingTuesday, e-appeals, and peer-to-peer appeals
  • Manage a portfolio of mid-level qualified relationships, and apply a moves management approach to the portfolio, with a cultivation strategy for each donor
  • Cultivate and solicit donors for gifts of $1,000+
  • Plan and execute donor stewardship plan for all first-time and portfolio of donors
  • Analyze and report on key individual giving metrics annually in order to assess effectiveness of individual giving activities and enhance fundraising results
  • Collaborate with all members of the development and communications department to provide a team approach to donor cultivation and stewardship
  • Build and maintain positive, effective relationships with donors, prospects, agency staff and board members through honesty, integrity and authenticity
  • Work with Development Director and Senior Leadership to identify a pipeline of major gift through execution of a multi-layered qualification process and detailed analysis from the mid-level donors
  • Successfully align partner interests with AHFH’s strategy and demonstrate a strong value proposition. Convincingly articulate the unique selling proposition.
  • Assist in coordination of fundraising events with the development team, including the annual Austin Habitat for Humanity Builders Ball
  • Participate in AHFH public speaking opportunities with strategic partners
  • Collaborate with the Director of Communications and Marketing on donor appeals and communications
  • Occasional nights and weekends required as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
