About The Position

The Independent Living Manager position promotes the Watercrest mission and philosophy. The IL Manager will be active in local community activities, participate in quality assurance initiatives ensuring the community is providing the highest quality of care for the Independent Residents, and will maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. The IL Manager will be responsible for overseeing compliance in accordance with company policy and procedures, federal, state, and local laws.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated record of success in the leadership capacity of a senior living community
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, team members, residents, family members, guests, vendors, referral sources, and outside contacts
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Intermediate level of computer and technology competency, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and other Microsoft Windows applications
  • Passion working with seniors
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • Knowledge and understanding of the mission and purpose of Watercrest Senior Living Group
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong leadership skills with a minimum of two (2) years’ successful experience in supervising and management.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience within a senior living environment
  • Work history demonstrating a strong understanding of state laws and regulations
  • Able to stand or walk 75% of the day
  • Able to concentrate with frequent interruptions
  • Able to work under stress and in emergency situations
  • Able to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing, and grasping
  • Able to talk and hear effectively in order to convey instructions and information to residents and team members
  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Conducts engaging activities that meet the needs of the residents
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of the Independent Living areas
  • Ensure quality service is provided, consistent with the mission of the company, company policies, and regulations.
  • Partners with the Executive Director to ensure the proper maintenance and upkeep of the physical community, maintaining the value of the real estate asset.
  • Ensures all state regulations and company policies are being followed
  • Promotes and protects the rights of all residents
  • Monitors resident care through the use of companies’ quality assurance programs
  • Establishes a positive rapport with local and state agencies
  • Assist with external relationship building/partnering with referral sources
  • Responsible for overseeing the work of IL Programing associates with full accountability for the performance of subordinates
  • Monitor Independent Living, communicate and interpret policies, evaluate performance, provide feedback and asssit and coaching associates as needed
  • Develop positive relationships with the community at large, families and residents on behalf of the community
  • Manages all transfers, agreements, and communication from Independent Living to Assisted Living and Memory Care
  • Must in company uniform and resident ready at all times
  • Performs other related essential duties as assigned
