The Supervisor- inbound is responsible for maintaining and constantly improving day to day floor operations to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction and production efficiencies, through meeting required deadlines and maintaining a controlled and operational in-flow/out-flow of product to ensure customer satisfaction. · Manage team members to ensure compliance with policies/procedures, process improvement, and drive team member initiatives to create and promote an environment where team members are engaged and committed to the success of the Company. · Supervise the daily operations in the functional area and lead team members until the work is complete for the day. · Create and execute the Shift Plan and collaboratively work with other areas as needed to create and synchronize the Daily Plan to support business objectives. · Maintain, refine and/or improve processes within the area to meet customer requirements which include deadlines and quality standards. · Manages day to day scheduling, staffing, material management, compliance, training, and auditing activities. · Follow the policies and procedures set forth by Logistics in conjunction with HR regarding on time management, attendance, and PTO. · Provide a positive and engaging working environment focusing on the safety, quality, operational excellence, and DC metrics which include Housekeeping and 5S standards that are incorporated into the Standard Work and into daily processes. · Emphasize safety and quality commitments for the department and ensure 100% compliance with the department’s processes and procedures · Have an in-depth understanding of the departments DC processes and functions. Identify key variables that influence the workflow process and develop and implement departmental changes as needed to drive continuous improvement and enhance workflow optimization. · Develop and implement performance measurements and internal auditing processes to routinely evaluate safety, quality, plan attainment, productivity, and operational efficiency. · Deliver results in support of the company strategy and expectations. · Supervise, train, and develop team members in non-exempt positions. Effectively communicate coaching and corrective action to ensure compliance with policies and procedures while treating team members fairly and with respect. · Provide timely feedback and development to team members. This includes performance evaluations, recognition, and disciplinary action. · Support and participate in hiring activities within the DC. · Facilitate and/or lead various teams for improvement, safety, and engagement to improve DC processes and engagement to the building. · Must be able to meet departmental expectations to effectively drive results. · Must be trained to operate PIE for specific departments (machine picking/put away, etc.) as applicable · Assist in managing Financial accounts for department personnel (i.e., payroll, expenses) · Operate within Department Budgets and Financial Plans · Maintain continuity of load/unload teams when possible, and best optimize productivity. · Ensures the cost effectiveness of the loading, unloading and delivery function, including the control of labor utilization – preventing excess hours, downtime and overtime, and efficient usage of loading and transportation related equipment. · Supervise and inspect loading/unloading operations for accuracy and to ensure compliance with customer and shipping specifications. Secure trailer and dock doors. · Propose and implement warehouse and shipping methods and procedures necessary to ensure the product is being delivered to the customer complete and in perfect condition. · Direct warehouse and shipping personnel to promote the accurate reporting of all transactions relating to material moves, put away, replenishment, verifying, inventory accuracy, and location control for all finished goods in the Distribution Center. · Supervise the checking of products being shipped against shipping documents to ensure correct product, proper quantities, and markings are used to avoid shipping errors.
