About The Position

Join the dynamic hospitality team at Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU as an In-Room Dining Server! Situated in the heart of Tempe, adjacent to Arizona State University, our hotel offers unparalleled service and amenities, making every stay unforgettable. As an In-Room Dining Server, you'll play a crucial role in providing our guests with an exceptional dining experience, right in the comfort of their own rooms. We're seeking a passionate, service-oriented individual who is available to work PM hours throughout the week. If you have a knack for personal guest service and a commitment to excellence, we would love to welcome you to our team. This is a full-time position with required availability of afternoon and evenings, including weekends.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; further education in hospitality or related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Server in a fast-paced dining or hotel environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage and interact positively with guests.
  • Ability to work PM shifts across 7 days a week.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
  • Knowledge of POS systems and basic computer skills for order processing.
  • A commitment to delivering high levels of customer service and maintaining Omni's standards of excellence.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
  • Physical ability to carry and deliver heavy trays and stand for extended periods.
  • Must have unexpired Food Handlers or obtain upon hire.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain a food handler certification.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • MICROS Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver food and beverage orders to guests in a timely, efficient, and courteous manner.
  • Ensure accuracy of orders by carefully reviewing them before delivery and making necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and specials to answer guest queries confidently.
  • Set up and break down in-room dining trays and tables, ensuring a neat and attractive presentation according to Omni standards.
  • Adhere to safety and hygiene protocols at all times, including proper handling of food and utensils.
  • Process payments accurately and promptly, providing guests with a seamless dining experience.
  • Build and maintain positive guest relations by engaging with guests to enhance their stay and encourage return visits.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and other hotel departments to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
  • Manage inventory and par level stock of commonly used beverages, condiments, and accessories.
  • Handle guest feedback with professionalism and forward any concerns to management promptly.
