Start YOUR career with DHL today… We have an immediate opening at our CVG facility in the Northern Kentucky area for an Import Compliance Analyst. As a Import Compliance Analyst, you would assist the with various import/export related regulatory compliance programs for DHLE USA. The Compliance Business Analyst would be directly involved with internal gateway and service center audits; investigating potential import and export violations; assist in creating weekly and monthly compliance metrics; and performing tasks to ensure DHLE USA is following various trade regulations. Additionally, you will be key in auditing and ensuring compliance under the Department of Transportation, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, State level Alcohol Beverage Control, and Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) for US import, export and transit transactions of alcoholic beverage shipments.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of laws and regulations is required including knowledge of 19 CFR
  • Basic understanding of import processes and regulations
  • Developed oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of and proficient at using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving
  • Ability to proficiently communicate with US Government officials and external auditors
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and high pressure environment
  • Organized and able to maintain a filing system
  • Ability to work with limited supervisors

Responsibilities

  • The analyst will assist with oversight of the Import Un-authorized Release program for the United States. This will include daily reporting of potential failures and correcting prior to delivery. The analyst will be required to follow up with the hubs and gateways for action plan worksheets and corrective actions on repeat issues
  • The analyst will assist with oversight of the United States alcohol compliance program. The analyst will be required to run daily reports identifying alcohol shipments in noncompliance and ensure corrected prior to delivery. This will include new customer approvals, state reporting, and monitoring the Alcohol compliance mailbox
  • The analyst will assist with additional reporting and import duties such as In-bond reporting, POA approvals, New E-Cigarettes & Accessories, no scan overage, and other duties as assigned
  • The analyst with assist with development and help conduct training regarding DHLE and US government import policies and procedures and act as a resource for questions by Operations
  • Assist with review and update of import compliance policies
  • Support the Senior Import Compliance Manager with other duties as assigned
  • Must possess the ability to perform detailed research in multiple internal IT systems, the internet, and hard copy files
  • Processing confidential documents and information
  • Reviewing, Approving, and Filing of Power of Attorney documents
  • Reviewing, approving, and filing of agreements between customers and DHL Express
  • Data entry into DHL Express proprietary systems
  • Processing and data entering of Fines and Penalty documents
  • Submitting Pink Bills to trades payable
  • Timely processing of mail received from government agencies and customers
  • Conduct record retention audits
  • May assist with metrics and research projects
  • Assist with various other team projects as assigned
  • Conduct, participate, and evaluate various audits of the business
