While this location is still undergoing buildout, our goal is to begin training for this role at other Sundae locations in the mountain region. Requirements

  • 3+ years of foodservice experience required
  • 1+ year of baking and pastry experience required
  • 1+ year of foodservice management experience required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong work ethic, excellent time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient computer, software, and technology skills
  • Valid Food Safety Manager certificate or equivalent (may be obtained within 60 days of hire date)

Responsibilities

  • Manage all production aspects of a commercial ice cream production facility, including baking operations
  • Oversee the hands-on classroom operations, ensuring operational and customer success
  • Lead a team of 5-15 production team members and classroom instructors by demonstrating exemplary professionalism, presentation, time management, teamwork, and product standards
  • Recruit, hire, and train talented team members including pastry cooks, cake decorators, and classroom instructors
  • Ensure operational success through adequate staffing; support business requirements by being available for on call and emergency coverage
  • Execute high-quality ice cream, sorbet, sauces, and baking production standards while meeting heavy volume demands and controlling costs
  • Sustain operational inventory levels and product cost by placing regular vendor orders, monitoring waste, controlling portion sizes, and accurately tracking outgoing and incoming transfers
  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness, organization, and appearance throughout the facility
  • Oversee and maintain accurate production records, including tracking usage and production rates
  • Monitor seasonal sales trends to adjust ideal staffing schedules while controlling labor costs
  • Meet or exceed food safety requirements as established by local and state health departments and industry best practices; food safety management and HACCP certifications may be required
  • Contribute to and participate in new recipe and product development
  • Collaborate with the Retail General Manager on shared responsibilities, including inventory, ordering, & cleanliness projects
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Events department on content creation, event production, and classroom & product marketing
  • Participate in and contribute to regular staff, management, and leadership meetings
  • Perform administrative tasks required for department operations, including but not limited to payroll reporting, performance documentation, and scheduling
