The Penny Ice Creamery is seeking dedicated individuals to join our kitchen team! The Penny Ice Creamery is the only Ice Cream Shop in Santa Cruz that makes ice cream completely from scratch in house. We create unique, seasonal ice cream flavors made with locally sourced and organic ingredients. The Ice Cream Maker/Pastry Assistant is responsible for preparing all of the ingredients that go into our ice cream, and spinning and pasteurizing the ice cream. Duties include cracking eggs, making syrups, jams, various confections, and preparing fruit and vegetables. Once you have shown your prep abilities, you'll be trained to spin ice cream using our Emery Thompson Batch Ice Cream Spinner! Once you master ice cream spinning, we will be able to train you to pasteurize and help you get your pasteurization license. Anyone with a current pasteurization license is encouraged to apply. This position is available in our Production Kitchen at our Downtown Santa Cruz location (913 Cedar Street, Santa Cruz, CA 95060).
