About The Position

Join the Discovery family, where quality and service are at the heart of everything we do! This role will be located in Discovery Land Company’s Hamptons locations: Dune Deck Beach Club, set in Westhampton Beach, New York. Dune Deck Beach Club is seeking a Seasonal Ice Cream Attendant to join the Food & Beverage Department. This role will be available May 20 to September 30, 2026. (weekends only in May and September). Our Attendant will open and close the ice cream room on a daily basis. Responsibilities include keeping assigned stations neat, organized, and stocked with various snacks, candies, and beverages. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of local food safety standards; possesses or can obtain State Food Safety Certificate.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail, quality and service.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure ice cream room is in compliance with all sanitation and safety regulations at all times.
  • Maintain proper temperature control of food and beverage items; take care with handling of food and perform daily stocking and re-stocking of all items for comfort stations throughout the day.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the outlet throughout the day with light housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, cleaning counters, and garbage disposal, and monitor expiration of perishable items.
  • Keep the appearance of the ice cream room consistent throughout the day, report any maintenance and/or safety issues promptly to the Executive Chef, Food and Beverage Supervisor, Food and Beverage Manager, or Culinary Director.
  • Conduct the inventory of all station items as requested.
  • Promptly respond to all guest/member requests.
  • Ensure daily opening and closing responsibilities are completed accurately and consistent with the department’s standard operating procedures.
  • Attend department meetings and training as requested.
